Hello fellow sailors, hope you are good in those rainy days!
As many of you asked, here is my first SBS for Abyssoul. At the end, you will be able to do easily and quite fast some great looking base!
I used some old epoxy putty that I found, it is really similar to the Classic Milliput. Really cheap and perfect to do basing things!
I mixed it in 50/50 and waited some minutes, until it reached a bit of hardness
As you can see, I used a really sharp and detailet tool to sculpt some stones! Old cheap brush are perfect for this work, using both sides to create intersting shapes.
The costruction is finished...now it is time to paint, yahoooooooooo!
Crappy pic. I know. Sorry.
First of all, after a black primer, I started to drybrush with a dark brown, mixed with some black. You can go quite savage at this point, there is no need to be gentle and/or precise!
Then, I added some khaki to start adding volumes. Still savage and having a lot of fun!
And then, time to add some white. At this point you can see that the wild brushes created an intersting texture on the rocks. We will take care of them later, don't worry!
At this point, I did some washes also with Biel Tane Green (is it right?) and started to retake the lights on the stones. Some gently and precise drybrush is the way to do it, don't understimate it!
It is already looking good!
Then, I used more green and yellow wash to add richness to the moss effect and also to recreate some shadows
and more, and more, and more, and more!
Now the funny part!
I used some sponge that I found (I don't know how it is called in English, but is the one used to create flowers decorations. It is usually green and fragile) to create a mix with also some green, some glossy effect and some glue. It is perfect to recreate moss!
Time to apply it!
So, we are here! After it I applied some small glazes and also some little touch of lights.
It is really fun to work on base, eheh!
I hope you find this useful, and if you want to support us you can buy one miniature in the online store section, or ask us for a commission work!
What an incredible masterclass!
Is the first thing I have to say. My first masterclass as an organizer, with my friend Marco Orselli, with one of my all time favourite painter!
We had 2 days full of aibrush, skintones, glazes and non metal metals!
The theory was amazing, the practice even more.
The class in all his beaty!
No brushstrokes from the master were missed by everyone!
Lan NMM is definitively one of the 7 wonders in the world!
This was an amazing experience, no doubt on it. I can't even image how hard can be to organize a contest, but I loved to talk and take feedback with the students and everyone felt like he was painting at home with friends, learning new stuff.
That's something special, I LOVE YOU ALL!
Thanks, and keep an eye for future events.
This is just the beginning.
We will talk more about this one really soon...
Finally, the bust version will be available for a limited amount of time.
The quality of the details is insane, you can see with your eyes with those pics.
There are some important differences from the 75mm version as you can see, as it gives a better shape to the bust. The hair are shorter, the sword is inverted and also there are some beatiful decorations on the hat that allows you to go wild with freehands.
