Faenir, once a captain of a Kurma merchant ship, sought a shortcut to Thalassa but ended up in a deadly battle with a Kutqik, a shape-shifting, giant sea creature. During the fight, half his ship and precious cargo were lost, and though Faenir managed to wound the beast, he returned home a disgrace. Exiled and stripped of his rank, he became obsessed with finding the Kutqik’s stomach, believing it holds the treasure that could restore his honor.
Years later, Faenir hunts ever-larger monsters, fueled by a berserker rage, seeking glory or a final, honorable death. His quest has led him to Skoll's crew, where he remains driven by the search for the ultimate beast: the Abyssal God.
